In Genesis 1:26 God gave man dominion over all the earth. Verse 28 reinforces that. Pastors state that when man fell and sin entered the world that the title deed for earth was forfeited to Satan. That God gave man dominion does not actually mean God gave the earth to man. That being the case, the earth did not pass to Satan.
2 Corinthians 4:4 says, "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." Satan may be worshipped by some and influence many, but that does not mean he owns the planet.
Luke 4:5-8 reads, "And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." First, not everything Satan is true, accurate or in context. Next, he may have power but that does not mean it is complete or that he is in control. If it were, the Bible would never have been written and Jesus Christ would have never risen from the grave. Even if he does have power, it does not mean he owns the earth.
What is written in the Psalms? 50:10 provides an excellent hint, "For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills." How could they belong to God if Satan owned the earth? Psalm 95:5 declares, "The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land ." Psalm 108:8-9 says, "Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver; Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph." Psalm 115:16 says, "The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men." This was written after man fell. A that time we see God let the children of men have or use it, not Satan. Isaiah 66:1 tells us, "Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?" 1 Chronicles 28:2 tells us, "Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:" 1 Corinthians 10:26 says, "For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof." 1 Corinthians. 10:28 adds, "But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:" In Matthew 5:35 Jesus said not to swear "by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King." In Acts 7:49 Stephen quoted God, "Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?" Finally Exodus 19:5 says, "Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:" This verse is from God. It is clear and direct. God owns the title deed to the earth.
